Symfony / PHP Web Developer

Salary: £30k to £40k

An exciting new startup is looking for a Symfony PHP Developer to head up their technical capability in Central London. Backed by an entrepreneur with a strong track record of building internet companies up to the value of £60 million, this latest venture is likely to be a famous online brand within just a few years, meaning fast growth of the technical team and plenty of career opportunities for the successful candidate.

Your role as Web Developer will be to extend and improve their innovative platform which has all been built on the Symfony framework. With a launch date of January 2012, there is already a pretty solid development roadmap for next year which you will implement. As the only full time technical person on board, you will have autonomy over how these new features are implemented and what technologies are used, so an interest in keeping up to date with the latest technologies and techniques will be essential.

This is a very important role within the organisation, so you will need to know your stuff. As a minimum, you should be able to demonstrate solid capability in all of the following:

- PHP development on the Symfony framework
- Interfacing with external APIs
- HTML / CSS (ideally HTML5 / CSS3)
- jQuery / AJAX
